Auditions: Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein

Wednesday, August 7 and Thursday, August 8 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The Ritz Theater in Sanford is holding open auditions for the Mel Brooks musical “Young Frankenstein,” directed for the Ritz Theater by Jenny Congiardo and Jamy Dinkins, with music direction by Julia Hood, choreography by Amber Nadelkov, and technical direction by Jam Atkins. We’re seeking 9 core actors and an ensemble cast for this popular monster musical comedy. If you are unable to attend in person, please see our website for details. Ritz Flix: Men in Black

Friday, August 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Fame – The David Bowie Experience

Saturday, August 10 at 7 p.m.

Thomas Clay becomes David Bowie in an electrifying tribute experience, spanning Bowie's career from Ziggy Stardust to "Modern Love." Clay's transformation mirrors Bowie's evolution, offering a resurrection of his spirit. This immersive journey is more than a concert; it's a portal to Bowie's world, inviting audiences to relive his magic and legacy. Tickets: $28-$35

 

Get Ready! Old School Motown

Saturday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m.

"Get Ready! Old School Motown" transports you to the golden age of Motown with fresh energy. Featuring dynamic singers and dancers, the show revives classics from The Temptations, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Stevie Wonder, and Aretha Franklin. 

 

Backed by a phenomenal live band and dazzling light show, it's the ultimate Motown experience. An Allengang Entertainment Presentation. Tickets: $28-$35

 

Ritz Charity Bingo

Tuesday, August 27 at 7 p.m.

Have fun and support the Ritz Theater at our monthly Bingo held at Dees Brother's Brewery across the street from the theater. We have fun prizes, a 50/50, and of course, great food/drinks are available for purchase. We play 4 rounds of regular bingo and one 50/50 game. The price for the regular games is $20 for 24 bingo cards (you can play as many cards as you like in each game). The 50/50 bingo cards are sold separately for $5 each. No RSVP, please walk-in.

 

Love Your Shorts 2024 Summer REWIND

Friday, August 30 at 7 p.m.

The Summer Rewind showcase, revisits a selection of outstanding films from the 3-day festival, offering audiences a chance to relive the magic of these captivating stories. From thought-provoking dramas to heartwarming slices of life, the Love Your Shorts Film Festival continues to captivate film enthusiasts and celebrate the art of concise storytelling. The Theater, a 100-year-old restored performing arts center, is located at 201 S. Magnolia Avenue in historic downtown Sanford, FL.
