Honoring the Life of Rev. Julius C. Ringling, Jr.

Julius touched the hearts of all who knew him, and he had many friendships beyond the ties of blood. He cherished many connections throughout his life in Alabama, Georgia, Tallahassee, FL, Plantation, FL , Dade County, FL and Deltona, FL.

Julius was a proud graduate of Crooms High School, Class of 1967, and he served in the Baptist Church, where he was ordained and served faithfully, in Volusia County and in Miami until his illness.

Rev. Ringling received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Talladega College and furthered his education with a Ford Foundation scholarship and earned a Master of Business Education from Atlanta University.  He later earned a PH.D degree and Doctor of Divinity degree from Maranatha Christian College in Jacksonville, FL.

Wherever, Julius lived he established a Bible Study group in the community and in the local church.  He supported students who needed financial assistance in college by giving them resources to help them complete their education.

He became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, while he was a student at Talladega College and he functioned as an active member.  He also decided to establish a foundation that helped people around communities for more than ten years.

Reverend Ringling spoke to several youth groups and to people, encouraging them to study God’s word.  Many of them gave their lives to the Lord.  After 30 years in education, with certifications in eight subjects, he decided to retire from teaching.

Julius is preceded in death by his devoted wife Brenda Lanier Ringling and his loving parents Dr. and Mrs. Julius Ringling, his uncle George R. Smith(Washington, DC) , Great Aunts Sterry Carr (New York City) and Ruth Cook (New York City).  Loving Grandmother Edith Matthews (Washington, DC).
