A Crooms Academy of Information Technology teacher, Mackenzie McLean was recently arrested after accusations of a sexual relationship with a former student and drugs.
The charges, all 2nd degree felonies, include sex offenses of an authority figure - sexual conduct with a student and drug possession - methamphetamine.
The judge has mandated that the teacher wear a GPS ankle monitor. Bond was set at $5,000 distribution of controlled substance and $15,000 for the sexual charges.
Seminole County Public Schools shared a statement to news outlets by saying, “Any allegations of misconduct by our staff will be taken seriously and handled quickly. The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and any type of behavior that jeopardizes that safety will not be tolerated in Seminole County Public Schools.”
