Virginia Wilson Powell (October 17, 1932 – February 20, 2026) passed away peacefully at 93. Born in Leesburg, Florida, she lived in Sanford for most of her life. She met Jimmy Powell at Seminole High School, and they had one son, David L. Powell (both deceased). She loved her church, history, and the NSDAR Sallie Harrison Chapter (Regent from 2002–2004).
Virginia is survived by Sarah Elizabeth Powell of Clearwater, Florida; Gina Powell Smith of Sanford, Florida; Peggy Bolton of Leesburg, Virginia; Mary “Bonny” York of Abingdon, Virginia; and many loving nieces and nephews who were blessed by her presence in their lives. A graveside service will be held on March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Cemetery in Sanford, Florida, at 5000 County Road 46A.
