Sanford Police Officers have arrested Zeidan Markel McKever (D.O.B. 7/17/2006) in connection to a shooting in the parking lot of 7-Eleven.
On Friday, Feb. 27 after 12:30 p.m. Sanford Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 2700 W. 25th Street. The subsequent investigation revealed that McKever was with a group of people, and they all engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim, Terrance Jerard Riggins (D.O.B. 08/27/2006). During the altercation, McKever used a firearm to shoot at Terrance, who shot back at McKever with his own firearm. Both individuals sustained gunshot injuries and were treated at local hospitals. The victim remains in critical condition at the hospital at this time.
McKever was arrested by Sanford Police Investigators and booked on charges of Criminal Mischief and Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility.
