The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, All Souls Conference, is proud to announce its 18th Annual Friends of the Poor Walk, taking place on Saturday, March 28  at 8 a.m. at Fort Mellon Park. Community members, businesses, and local organizations are invited to participate as sponsors and supporters of this impactful annual event.

The Friends of the Poor Walk raises critical funds to assist neighbors in need throughout Sanford and the surrounding Lake Mary area. Over the past 12 months alone, the Society has helped 3,130 individuals with essential needs including housing, utilities, food, clothing, transportation, and medical assistance.

Many of those served are hardworking individuals and families facing temporary hardships. Others—including veterans, seniors, immigrants, and individuals experiencing homelessness—require more extensive support. Through person-to-person service, members of the Society bring compassionate assistance and hope to those who are struggling.

Event organizers are currently seeking sponsors to help make the 2026 walk a success. Sponsorships directly support local outreach efforts and ensure that vital assistance continues to reach families in crisis.

“We cannot do this important work without the support of our community,” said Michele Holland, Friends of the Poor Walk Chair. “Every dollar raised stays local and helps our neighbors-in-need.”

Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring or participating in the 2026 Friends of the Poor Walk are encouraged to reach out for more information. https://runsignup.com/Race/FL/Sanford/FriendsofthePoorwalkSanfordFlorida
