UCF BASEBALL WALKS IT OFF BEHIND EPIC NINTH-INNING COMEBACK TO SWEEP RACERS
Down 9-4 in the bottom of the ninth, UCF Baseball rallied back, scoring six runs to secure a miraculous 10-9 walk-off victory over Murray State on Sunday afternoon. The walk-off was solidified by two ‘Nauts coming off the bench, as a Cayden Gaskin single to center field sent James Hankerson Jr. home for the winning run.
UCF’s win streak extends to five, walking away with a series sweep over the 2025 College World Series qualifying Racers. The Knights move to 9-5 on the season, while Murray State falls to 10-6.
Trailing 9-4 in the bottom of the ninth, the Citronauts loaded the bases with no outs on singles by Andrew Williamson and John Smith III and Zak Skinner being hit by a pitch.
Javier Crespo then singled to shallow right to trim the deficit to four. Then, a wild pitch sent Smith III home and Landon Moran would work a walk to load the bases up again with no outs.
Hankerson Jr. came off the bench and delivered a two-run single up the middle to cut the lead to one. Jordan Lodise then sent the game-tying run home on a safety squeeze bunt. A sacrifice bunt by Austin Jacobs would moved Hankerson Jr. to third base before Gaskin entered as a pinch-hitter and promptly delivered a walk-off RBI single.
UCF had dominated the first two games, winning 8-3 on Friday and 4-0 on Saturday.
On Deck:
The Knights remain home for a matchup against No. 21 Miami tonight (Wednesday) at 6 p.m. Following the midweek contest, UCF will open Big 12 Conference play with a home series against Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon on Sunday. UCF will then complete a 12-game homestead by welcoming Columbia to John Euliano Park next Tuesday (St. Patrick’s Day) for a 6 p.m. contest.

NO. 23 UCF SOFTBALL EARNS SERIES VICTORY OVER NO. 12 OKLAHOMA STATE
The No. 23 UCF softball team (22-5, 2-1 Big 12) slugged its way to a series win in Stillwater, Oklahoma, with a 6-4 victory Sunday over No. 12 Oklahoma State (17-7, 1-2 Big 12). The Knights tallied 13 hits, including a pair of doubles in the top of the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie.
Sunday's victory, paired with Friday's 4-1 triumph in the series opener, gave UCF their first two wins in Stillwater in program history. The lone defeat of the weekend came via a Cowgirls rally to lift them 2-1 (6-4) in walk-off fashion.
The Knights collected 32 hits to just 12 for OSU and outscored their hosts 11-to-7 in the series.
Up Next:
The Black and Gold will return to Orlando for their first Big 12 series at home this season, hosting Baylor in a three-game set at the UCF Softball Complex beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, followed by a Saturday game at 4 p.m. and a Sunday finale at noon.
UCF WOMEN’S HOOP SEASON ENDS
In its 2026 Big 12 Tournament first-round contest, UCF women’s basketball couldn’t find its stride offensively, falling to Kansas in a low-scoring affair Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena, 56-35.
While the 14th-seeded Knights (11-19) forced 16 turnovers from the 11th-seeded Jayhawks (19-12) and limited them to a 6-19 clip from beyond the arc, a poor night from the field never gave the Black and Gold an opportunity to climb back into the contest.
Jacorriah Bracey was the lone Knight to score in double figures, finishing with 10 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Kristol Ayson had six points and four rebounds and Khyala Ngodu also had six points to go along with 10 rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals.
