The Altamonte Springs City Commission held its regularly scheduled meeting on March 17.
Finance Items
Two finance items were passed unanimously. The first finance item rewards $41,343.32 to Paragon Products, Inc. According to the approval request submitted by Tara Culver, Chief Financial Officer, and approved by Franklin W. Martz, II, City Manager the solicitation called for offers from various firms to provide printing services for all departments within the City of Altamonte Springs. According to Culver, the services awarded under the agreement include all labor, materials and equipment to provide completed printing of documents like business cards, flyers, brochures, posters and door hangers.
The second finance item authorized the disposing of equipment deemed obsolete by various departments within the City of Altamonte Springs.
According to the approval request submitted by Culver and approved by Martz the Finance Department plans to dispose of undamaged items in an auction through George Gideon Auctioneers, Inc. at a commission rate set by Seminole County.
Public Hearings
A resolution approving Supplemental Agreement #1, amending the Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement between the City and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) was approved. According to the Approval request submitted by Bruce Doig, P.E., Director of Public Works and Utilities and approved by Martz the resolution was described the agreement as “administrative in nature” and no additional funding is being requested.
“The Supplemental Agreement adjusts the federal and local funding amounts to reflect the awarded construction cost,” Doig said in a memo to the City Commission. The public hearing was opened and closed with no public comment.
New Resident Trustee of the Police Officers’ Pension Plan Board
The commission unanimously approved to appoint Blake Hattaway as Resident Trustee of the Police Officers’ Pension Plan Board. According to the approval request submitted by Angela Apperson, City Clerk and approved by Martz, Hattaway will fulfill the remainder of Williams’s four-year term, which will expire December 31, 2028.
