Opening in October 2024, Amada Senior Care of Winter Springs provides non-medical in-home care to seniors living in Apopka, Casselberry, Lake Mary, Longwood, Sanford, Winter Springs, and Zellwood. Some of their provided care includes bathing, dressing, mobility and exercise, companionship, transportation, and much more.
The establishment is owned by Stanley Saeed and his wife, Barbara Saeed. They both have been involved in senior care for years, whether it was with the clients at Amada Senior Care or in their own homes.
“My parents, before they died, had a horrible time and caregivers came in to help them. We saw how dedicated and nice they were. My wife went through the same thing. She was a caregiver, so she knew what it takes to take care of people,” Stanley Saeed said. “We were inspired by their work and wanted to pay it forward, to dedicate it to our parents. It’s a good thing to do, it’s the right thing to do, and it’s not about making money. It’s the most needed industry.”
Caregivers at Amada Senior Care work to provide valuable care to seniors in Seminole County. With many seniors being unable to care for themselves, Amada prides themselves on helping people feel loved and cared for.
“The best part is taking care of them and making sure someone is doing something for them. When they say thank you, they say it differently and it means a lot. It’s how they love you, they’ll do a lot of different things. Instead of exactly saying thank you, one will bake you cookies, or sit with you and talk and watch the news. It’s like making a family,” Stanley Saeed said.
As people grow older, children end up becoming their parents’ caregivers which is not an easy task. For Amada, providing this help to those people as well is important to them.
“I understand what people are going through and that they need help caring for their loved one that needs help. The caregiver needs respite care, so just to have somebody come in and take over their job for a few hours for that care is huge,” Barbara Saeed said.
“This business is not everyone’s cup of tea,” said Stanley Saeed. “You have to have a strong heart. Now, I have a very different respect for caregivers and people who take care of these seniors. I have seen my wife come home crying like a baby many times over and over because it’s heartbreaking what’s happening, especially with the dementia patients. We have a line with modern technology.”
He added that Amada Senior Care has dementia games which helped them balance and improve their life and live longer. It’s not a cure, but it is something to help them. We are the only company is providing them and we are proud to be part of this ongoing effort.
After being open for a year, Amada Senior Care continues to contribute quality work to the senior folks in their homes.
