All for the Love of Children: John Morgan Transforming The Seminole Towne Center

Following in his mother Shiela J. Morgan's footsteps, John H. Morgan is determined to bring a light to the Central Florida area that has never been seen before.

Known as the “Mother of Head Start,” Shiela J. Morgan was the first woman to address the Ohio legislative body and changed the landscape of early childhood education with her trailblazing Head Start program. John H. Morgan of Sanford is actively carrying forward this legacy.

There is a major need for childcare for those whose work hours are not flexible. The Seminole Towne Center is Morgan’s dream location due to in-person retail declining. He has the goal of providing opportunities not just for parents, but the community as a whole. This center will supply a critical need by running around the clock, 365 days a year for first responders including police, fire station workers, medical emergency personnel, nurses, low-income families, and more.

“We are a 24/7 world. Therefore, in order to have safety and protection in our communities, we must have the best trained, bestequipped centers to meet 24/7 the needs of our communities,” exclaimed John Morgan. “We would not expect the police department, Fire / EMT Departments, and hospital nurses to go home at 5 PM. They are on at all times to meet the needs of a community that people want to live in, and Central Florida has some of the fastest growing communities in the country.”

The All for the Love of Children Foundation is in developmental stages and is proceeding cautiously to execute this solution. An exciting update is a new logo being established that includes symbols representing “individual giving for the greater good of the community.” This center will be a non-profit foundation allowing funding to go directly towards the advancement of young children. As education changes, Morgan wants to make sure the little ones are properly preparing for K-12.

“This is a foundation that’s going to feed the community. This is not only education but opportunity,” explained Morgan. The former musician hopes to provide internship and scholarship opportunities to emerging students in the early childcare community. Incorporating music learning and opportunities in the center is also essential in Morgan’s plans.

The co-founder has strong ambitions of giving back to those who make our home a safer place. As he grew up with his mother directly engaged in the field of working with these individuals, and opening up the first integrated facility, he knows firsthand the challenges of raising a family while working such hours. “I have spoken to so many nurses, so many policemen and firefighters, and I certainly know about low-income families. This is something that they need,” Morgan expressed.

Morgan remains eager to involve the community in this ambitious project, inviting      individuals and organizations to join him in shaping a brighter future for generations to come. The project will flourish with the support of those who share a passion for children's education and well-being, therefore he strongly encourages engagement as another vital component.

Morgan emphasizes, “As we draw near to the end of the first quarter of the 21st Century, a developmental and educational process needs to be taken to rejuvenate the early childhood development and education programs to address the rapid changes in our environment.”

We will continue to follow the progress closely as the initiative rapidly moves forward. More updates will come on the developments and milestones that are achieved in this journey.
