This was about as close to perfection as you could get.
Seminole County went into last week’s District Softball Tournaments with teams entered in six different events.
And when the last out was made on Thursday, local teams had won five District titles and had two other teams finish as runner-ups as eight teams qualified for this week’s Regional Quarterfinals.
And really wasn’t close as most of the Championships Games were decided by 10 or more runs.
Lake Brantley (Class 7A-District 3), Hagerty (Class 7A-District 4), Lake Howell (Class 6A-District 5), Winter Springs (Class 5A-District 6) and The Geneva School (Class 1A-District 6) all won Championships, while Oviedo (Class 6A-District 5) and The Master’s Academy (Class 1A-District 6) finished as runner-ups and Orangewood Christian, which lost to TMA in the semifinals, earned an At Large Bid in Class 1A-Region 2.
The Class 1A-Region 2 Quarterfinals will be played tonight (Wednesday) and the Class 5A, 6A and 7A Quarterfinals will be played tomorrow (Thursday).
