Jonathan Mustapha Knuckles was born on September 1,1953 in the city of Careysburg,
Liberia, West Africa to Mr. Johnathan H. Knuckles and Mrs. Henrietta Lucas Knuckles.
He began his early childhood school education in the Careyburg Public Schools. From there he attended Gbarnga United Methodist Mission School and later, matriculated to
Konola Academy SDA Mission School in Bong County, Liberia. Upon graduation, he
went back to his hometown of Careysburg as an instructor in the public school, where
he educated, trained and tutor the kids to become excellent in their studies.
Mr. Knuckles came to the United States to pursue his education. He attended the
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Police Academy and, upon graduation, became a police
officer in Philadelphia for many years until his retirement. One of his life's mission was
to feed the hungry and take care of the poor. He served as a deacon in his local Methodist church in Philadelphia.
He leaves to cherish his memory 35 loving siblings, and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and other surviving relatives.
His body will be flown to Monrovia, Liberia to the Stryker Funeral Home, in Sinkor.
Funeral and burial will take place in Careysburg, his hometown. He will truly be
missed. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.
