Clara Haskins Sauls, 99, of Sanford Florida, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024. Clara was born on December 27th,1924 to Helen and Harold Haskins. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband John Laurens Sauls Sr. as well as her parents and two brothers, Harold and Hamal Haskins. She is a graduate of Seminole High School, and, except for the years during World War II, she was a lifetime resident of Sanford. She married her husband during the war and remained married until his death in 2010. Clara and John started and ran a successful real estate and insurance agency in downtown Sanford for many years. Also, she and her husband were founding members of Sanford Bible Church. They used to say, “we serve the Lord…we sell houses to pay the bills.” Clara wrote several Christian books including God’s Covenants, and The Christian Sabbath. Clara is survived by her son, John Laurens Sauls Jr., her three grandchildren, Berit VanNeste, Erik Sauls, and Haley Sauls, plus her two great-grandchildren, Beth and Calista Muncy. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11th at 1:00 PM with service to follow at 2:00 PM at DeGusipe Funeral Home located at 905 Laurel Ave, Sanford Florida 32771.
