Edgar Levern Lemons, Sr., 73 was born on July 2, 1951 in the beautiful city of Sanford, Florida to the late Charles Lemons and the late Evangelist Jestine Lemons. He was also reared and loved by the late Mr. Albert and Bertha Spann of Sanford, Florida . He transitioned on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at his home. Edgar attended Seminole County Public Schools and graduated from Crooms Academy - Class of 1969 in Sanford. Edgar enlisted in the US Army around the age of 22 and served proudly. After serving, he worked in numerous industries. Edgar has been a proud life-long resident of Sanford, Florida and anyone who knew him knew how much he loved Sanford. Through the years, he could be found helping others and he was definitely fond of assisting the elderly. Above all, he loved his children, his sisters, brother and family immensely. He also was a championship pool player and hardly ever turned down a good time at the casino. Edgar is survived by his one son, Edgar L. Lemon, Jr.; two daughters, Nicole Lemon Peterson (Richard) and Stephanie S. Lemon, all of Florida; one brother, Charles Lemons (Marilyn), of Mississippi; two sisters, the late Edna Jean Spann Cody and Sandra Lemons Washington, of Sarasota, Florida, he was the youngest of his siblings. He was well liked and loved and will be greatly missed by many! He also leaves four nephews, four nieces, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many other sorrowing family and friends. The service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11:07 am and visitation on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 5-7 pm. Both services will be held at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 920 Cypress Avenue, Sanford, FL 32771.
