The Secretary of War
According to the media, Hegseth is a bad boy. He is holding up the promotion of eight captains to the rank of admiral. The criticism is that they are purple and chartreuse, and also some are women.
The Biden military, though denied, promoted on a diversity and inclusion basis. This does not give the country the best and the brightest. Possibly, some of them will retire gracefully. That will help, as anybody over thirty is going to oppose new methods of warfare.
The Ukraine and Iran wars have shown how woefully inadequate our military is. We are like the Russians, we are slow to change our thinking and tactics. Hegseth sees this and is trying to bring younger officers forward to change the situation.
The side that has Silicon Valley providing the weapons of specific destruction will win over the side that uses mass destruction. It is a matter of economics.
Donald J hasn't listened to the advice given him by this award winning columnist. Donald, you have to bomb Iran's desalination plants! If you don't know what a desalination plant is, ask your excellent Vice President, he went to one of those New England schools where everybody is so smart that the only grade given out is at least an A.
Sanford can't raise the docks sunk by a hurricane but it can give the City Manager a raise for a job well done.
Let's hope the new Mayor can fix some of the problems the city has:
The docks, the sewer plant, the use of the Civic/Convention Center, a train station, the empty buildings when the county moves out, the Mayfair, letting the guy open his golf cart repair shop at 13th and Park, the four day work week, etc. etc. etc.
