Gates open at 8 a.m. and Time Trials at 10 a.m. to be followed by Eliminations. Admission is $20 (kids 10-and-Under free).

   * Wednesday (August 14, 21, 28) _ Goslings Rum Wednesday Night Race at 6 p.m. A beautiful sunset race, social at Filomena's with STICKERS and a BOOZE RAFFLE! If you are looking to crew, be down at the ramp by 6 p.m. If you are sailing, the starting window will be between 6:25 p.m.-and-6:30 p.m.

   * Sunday, August 25 _ Sine Metu Jameson Irish Whiskey Race. The start window is 2 p.m-to-2:05 p.m.

UCF MEN’S SOCCER

   The first men’s athletic event of the 2024-2025 school year on the UCF campus is tomorrow (Thursday) when the men’s soccer team hosts longtime rival Stetson in an Exhibition Game at 7 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex. Admission is free to all.

 

UCF WOMEN’S SOCCER

   The women’s soccer team will travel to Boca Raton to face FAU in the Regular Season opener at 7 p.m. at the FAU Football Stadium.

 

KICKOFF CLASSICS

   The 2024 High School Football Season begins this Friday with the annual Kickoff Classic Exhibition games for FHSAA teams and the opening of the Regular Season for the five SSAA (Sunshine State Athletic Association) programs.

NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY

   The Florida Mod-Mini Challenge Series Twin 25’s will highlight this Saturday’s card at New Smyrna Speedway.

   In addition to the two 25-Lappers for Mod Mini’s also taking the track will be the E-Mods (25 Laps), Ashley Homes JAX Trucks (25 Laps), Black Jack Seal Coating Bomber A’s (20 Laps) and the Florida Southern Ground Pounders (20 Laps).

   Pit gates open at 2 p.m. with Division Practice from 3:30 p.m.-to-5 p.m. Ticket booths and grandstand gates open at 3:30 p.m. (Early Bird Discount 3:30 p.m.-to-6 p.m. - $5 Off General Admission; No other Discounts will be taken during the Early Bird Discount). Heat Races are at 6 p.m., followed by Florida Mod-Mini Challenge Series Qualifying and Feature Racing at 7:30 p.m.

   Adult admission is $21 (reserved seating is $25, the top six (6) rows of the Main Grandstand) with all seniors (65+) and military (with valid ID for proof of age or Military affiliation) admitted for $19. Kids 12-17 are $6 (No Early Bird Discount). Kids 11 years of age and under are free of charge (MUST be accompanied by paying Adult to qualify for Free Admission). Pits - Members ($25), Non-Members ($35).

   The track is located at the corner of SR. 44 and CR 415, between New Smyrna, DeLand and Daytona.

VOLUSIA SPEEDWAY PARK

   Volusia Speedway Park in DeLeon Springs/Barberville will be hosting a night of Weekly Racing on Saturday, featuring the 3/4 Modifieds, 602 Late Models and Top Gun Sprint Cars.

  Grandstand gates and ticket sales open at 4 p.m., Hot Laps at 6 p.m., followed by Opening Ceremonies and Racing.

   General Admission is $12, Seniors, Military and First Responder are $10 and Youth 12 & Under are Free. Pit Pass is $35 and Youth 12 & Under Pit Pass is  $25. The Ticket Phone is (844) 347-8849.

ORLANDO PRIDE

   The Orlando Pride (0-0-2, 3 points) will have a big break before gearing back up for the NWSL Regular Season. The team is set to travel to Houston take on the Dash on Friday, August 23. The match is set to kick off at 8 p.m. and can be seen on Prime Video.

ORLANDO CITY

   Orlando City SC and Cruz Azul played to a 0-0 draw on Friday night at Inter&Co Stadium in the Leagues Cup 2024 Round of 32. Following 90 minutes of scoreless play, the Lions ultimately dropped the end-of-regulation shootout 5-4 and the team’s Leagues Cup run came to an end.

   Next Match:

   The Lions return to regular season play on Saturday, August 23, traveling to face Sporting Kansas City in an 8:30 p.m. kickoff at Children’s Mercy Park.
