Isaac “Big Ike” Brooks, 88, of Wyncote, Pennsylvania, formerly of Sanford, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Born February 20, 1938, in Sanford, Florida, Isaac grew up in the Midway community and graduated from Crooms High School, Class of 1958. He moved to the Philadelphia area in the early 1960s.
A devoted husband, father, and family man who deeply loved his family and friends, Isaac was united in marriage to the late Frances Adele Brooks in 1962. He worked for many years at Bluebird Meat Packing Company before retiring. He was a huge Miami Dolphins fan who loved driving back to Sanford, listening to Teddy Pendergrass, family trips, old movies, and spending time with his “homeboys.”
He is survived by his children Aaron Vincent Brooks and Cheryl Brooks Brown, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Midway Community Center, 2251 Jitway Avenue, Sanford, Florida 32771. Repass at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help cover the cost of the Florida memorial service.
