SANFORD ADULT SOFTBALL
The Championship Game of the Wednesday Night Postseason Tournament in the Semi-Co-Ed/Fun League in the City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department Adult Softball Spring League was something special last week.
The semifinals saw No. 2 seeded Longhorns ease past No. 3 seeded The West End Trading Company and No. 1 seed Pat’s Liquor roll over No. 4 seeded Throwbacks to set up a winner-take-all final between the top two teams during the Regular Season at Pinehurst Park on West 24th Street.
The Longhorns scored five runs in the top of the first inning and maintained a pretty good lead until the Regular Season Champs from Pat’s Liquor make a late run.
But in the end it was the Longhorns taking the game by the score of 19-16.
There is a chance there will be a summer independent league starting in July and the Regular City Fall League will begin in October.

LMSA
As usual it was an interesting week in the Lake Monroe Sailing Association (LMSA).
Shifty Winds made it difficult to set up a course for the monthly LMSA Club Championship for the Hayden Cup on Saturday, June 13.
Only two of the scheduled three races were completed before the wind went below parameters and the final race of the day was canceled. Congratulations to Richard Gailey on Wicklow Way winning a tie-breaker with Fleur de Mer III and Olivier Fleury for the day’s overall title.
This past Wednesday, there was new winner taking the top step of the podium as Justice, under the guidance of John North, edged Gailey on Wicklow Way by just under 30-seconds.
Sheet Show, under Ray Laguna, finished third to complete the podium.
Here are the results:
