WINTER SPRINGS — Just days after leading the Winter Springs High School softball team to its second consecutive FHSAA Class 5A State Championship and prior to being names the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 5A Coach of the Year, Farrah Gordon has announced that she is stepping down as Head Coach of the Bears to focus on her family.
“It is with sincere appreciation and gratitude for all her time, effort and love that she has brought to our WSHS Softball Program that we announce that our amazing Head Softball Coach, Farrah Gordon has stepped down from coaching to spend more time with family,” said Mike Bradley, Athletic Director, Head Baseball Coach Winter Springs High School said in a release from the WSHS Athletic Administration. “Her departure will not only be defined by the championships won but also by her commitment to developing student athletes on and off the field. Her goal was always to develop the next generation of strong, confident young women who will graduate ready for success in the next chapter of their lives.
“During Coach Gorden’s six seasons as head coach, she owned a 115-57 overall record, won one Seminole Athletic Conference Championship, three District Championships, three Regional Championships, one State-Runner-up finish, and two State Championships!
“Bear Nation is extremely grateful to Coach Gordon and her family for their commitment to our Winter Springs Softball Community and Program.
“Without question, the next coach will have quite a legacy to follow.”
