1 month down and 5 more to go! Whether you're a native of Florida or new to this storm prep concept, here are a few ideas to make life easier if we find ourselves in the path of a storm.

• Take a video of your home on your phone to document its condition - walk from room to room and spin around.
• Keep all vegetation cut back at least 24 inches from your home so you're not scrambling last minute.
• Register for Alert Seminole to get emergency information straight from Seminole County - you can choose to get info about weather, road closures, etc. via phone, text, and/or e-mail.
• Locate some big containers for water so you can fill them up as the storm comes in and can skip buying bottled water - we have two 5-gallon jugs and they have always been more than enough (and most of the time they're not even necessary).
