Shayna’s Village at The Heller Family Grove – A One-Stop Therapy and Support Solution to Address Skyrocketing Rates of Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, and Developmental Differences – Launches with Ribbon Cutting Celebration and Villager Fundraising Campaign.
The collaborative team of psychologists, teachers, and therapists will begin serving clients and their families this fall. Enrichment classes, therapeutic services, and parental support programs will be open to all.
The community recently gathered to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the all-new Shayna’s Village at The Heller Family Grove, a one-of-a-kind resource in Central Florida where therapists of many different disciplines will work together under the guidance of a Doctor of Pediatric Neuropsychology to serve clients and their families all in a single location. The 5,000-square-foot facility, housed in The Roth Family Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando, will be open to children, teens, adults, and even seniors facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, dementia, or any kind of developmental difference.
“The ribbon cutting was a celebration worthy of such a groundbreaking new resource,” says Melissa Youngblood, Interim Co-Executive Director and Chief Education Officer of Shalom Orlando, the family of agencies that includes The Roth Family JCC, the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando, and Shayna’s Village. “Nothing else like this exists in Central Florida where families can come to a single location to get many different therapies for their children and receive support services for parents, too.”
“It takes the entire Shalom Orlando family to make something like this possible,” says Stan Rubins, Chairman of the Shalom Orlando Board of Directors. “That includes not only the agencies that power this family but also the Board members, community supporters,
and of course our remarkable donors who stepped up to support Shayna’s Village at The Heller Family Grove because they see how unique and essential this new resource is.”
At the Ribbon Cutting celebration, Shayna’s Village at The Heller Family Grove also launched the Villager campaign at www.ShaynasVillage.org to give members of the Central Florida community a chance to be part of the enrichment center’s success. At the website, visitors can make a monthly contribution of $18 (a sacred number in Judaism) or any amount they wish to become a Villager. Money raised will fund free parental support programs and an in-house insurance coordinator who can help families navigate the challenging landscape of insurance coverage for mental-health services. The Heller Family, namesake of Shayna’s Village at The Heller Family Grove, has committed to match the first $54,000 of Villager donations.
