Oviedo Police Chief Dale Coleman swore in two new police officers Monday, August 12th in the Oviedo City Hall Council Chambers.
The Chief officially welcomed Christopher McCree and Tyler Stimpson to the Oviedo Police Department. Both new officers were sworn in by the Chief and pinned by their family members during the ceremony.
"I am so proud to welcome these officers to the Oviedo Police Department,” said Chief Coleman. “This is a monumental start and we are happy they have chosen Oviedo to continue their public service careers."
The Oviedo Police Department prides itself on a healthy recruitment program with incentives for potential officers.
Officer McCree was born and raised in Casselberry, where he attended Lake Howell High School before going to FAMU. He joined the Army where he served for five years. McCree was pinned by his mother, who is a local probation officer. He was joined by his family and his wife and kids at the ceremony.
