Wade Brashears accumulated 455-yards, throwing for four touchdowns and running for two more and a 2-point conversion and visiting Lake Mary Prep (2-1) needed every one of them as they held off The Geneva School (2-1), 43-42, in an Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAC) 8-man football game at the Eric Liddell Athletic Complex in Casselberry.
The senior quarterback was 9-for-15 with one interception for 185 yards and carried the ball 14 times for 270 yards as the Griffins won their second straight game after an opening night loss and ending the Knights 2-game winning streak.
Evan Alles had 67-yards receiving, but three of his four catches went for touchdowns. Payne Fitzmaurice led the receivers with three catches for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Dominik Torres was 2-for-3 on PAT kicks and also nailed a 42-yard field goal, while Oscar Pombo had a monster game on defense with 21 tackles (12 solo, 9 assists).
In 11-man SSAA action:
* Defending state champion The Master’s Academy (3-0) avenged a 41-13 loss in last year’s season opening game, going on the road to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and blitzing Middle Tennessee Christian High School (0-2), 42-0, with freshman quarterback Jackson Stecher completing 9-of-13 passes for 278-yards and three touchdowns _ two to Sawyer Smith (2 receptions, 103-yards) and one to Davon Washington (5 receptions, 129-yards) _ and O’Shea Faison carrying the ball 13 times for 127-yards and three more scores.
* Trinity Prep (0-2) put up a good fight but came up a little short to The First Academy-Leesburg (1-1), 22-12, and Orangewood Christian (0-3) struggled against Weeki Wachee (1-1), 42-16.
Overall, it was a pretty good week for Seminole County programs as they went 7-6 with Lake Mary and Winter Springs (2-0) remaining unbeaten and three teams _ Lake Brantley (1-1), Oviedo (1-1) and Seminole (1-0) _ getting their first victories of the season.

Lake Brantley 23, East River 21
The Patriots went to its tried-and-true running game as seven different players carried the ball 54 times for 288-yards _ led by Trenton Greenstreet with 120-yards on 14 carries _ and Vinny Messina scoring a touchdown.
The passing game was also effective as freshman Ezekiel French only threw the ball four times, but three of them were completed for 44-yards, including touchdown passes to Porter Craig (1-reception, 25-yards) and Matthew Krause (2-receptions, 19 yards).
Sophomore placekicker Stephano Samper was perfect on the evening, going 2-for-2 on PAT kicks and hitting a 40-yard field goal.
Oviedo 58, Sickles 0
Oviedo traveled to Tampa and got off the bus ready to play as Brock Joyce sprinted 69-yards for the first of his three touchdowns on the evening on the game’s first play from scrimmage and the Lions went on to build a 49-0 halftime edge and force a running clock the entire second half.
Joyce finished then night carrying the ball five times for 124-yards and the trio of TD’s and also completed all three of his pass attempts for 29-yards.
Chance Nixon and Bruce Slivinski (2-point conversion) also ran for touchdowns, Jerome Curry was 3-for-6 passing for 30-yards with an touchdown to Jordan Donahoo on his only reception of the night, Samari Chisolm had a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and Logan Calder was 6-for-7 on PAT kicks.
Winter Springs 19, Celebration 14
After building a 12-7 lead at halftime on touchdown passes by Make McBurse of 26-yards to Tristen Raines and 20-yards to Johan Torres, the host Bears found themselves trailing 14-12 from midway through the third quarter until there were less than 6-minutes left when McBurse but his team ahead to stay on a 1-yard touchdown run and Jael Ambrosio added the PAT kick.
The Winter Springs defense then made the lead stand up, getting an interception at the 1-yard-line on the final play of the game.
