Special to the Herald
The Oviedo Winter Springs Lions Club is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $1,000 Local Connection Grant from the Wawa Foundation. This generous grant will significantly aid in upgrading the equipment at Project Right to Sight, an initiative dedicated to providing essential vision care to community members facing extreme financial hardships, lacking insurance, and often living in shelters or experiencing homelessness.
Vision care is a critical component in helping individuals rebuild their lives. Clear vision enhances job prospects, improves safety and independence, supports mental and physical health, and facilitates access to education and vital services. The support from the Wawa Foundation brings the Lions Club closer to its goal of ensuring that everyone in the community, regardless of their financial situation, has access to the vision care they need.
"We are deeply grateful to the Wawa Foundation for recognizing the importance of our mission," said Teresa Pedroza, a representative of the Oviedo Winter Springs Lions Club. "This grant is a step in the right direction toward making a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most."
The Oviedo Winter Springs Lions Club remains committed to improving the health and well-being of the community. With the continued support of partners like the Wawa Foundation, the club is confident in its ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those it serves.
