Hannah McDonald Poetry

Hannah McDonald Poetry

By Hannah McDonald

Don’t discount joy.

It is available for full price of value

At our expense of rediscovering it.

Spark The Imagination

We don’t build forts anymore.

We don’t play in the streets anymore.

We don’t collect seashells anymore.

We don’t write letters to Santa anymore.

We don’t slide down the stairs anymore.

We don’t play hopscotch anymore.

We don’t climb chunky tall trees anymore.

We don’t build snowmen or sandcastles anymore.

We don’t seem to enjoy simple things

Without distractions anymore.

We don’t think world peace is as obtainable anymore.

We grew out of our once fitted clothes and imaginations.

It’s time to grow up, although I’m still hooked

On rekindling my childlike creativity and wonder again.
