Day of Hope-Calvary

2024 Together in Teal Walk

Saturday, Sept. 28, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., Cranes Roost, Altamonte. Together in TEAL invites community to join forces in our mission to save lives through the prevention and cure of ovarian cancer and to improve the quality of life for survivors and their caregivers. Walk with family and friends, and be part of our TEAL community to honor survivors & celebrate the memories of loved ones lost.

 

Tracks & Scat Hike

Saturday, Sept. 28, 9 to 11 a.m., Geneva Wilderness Area. Hike in search of nature’s clues. Discover how to identify wildlife sign and test your detective skills during this exploratory experience. End the hike at the nature center for an Open House event! Ages 7+. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Nature Center Open House & Native Plant Sale

Saturday, Sept. 28, 9 to noon, Ed & Imogene Yarborough Nature Center, Geneva. Nature Center & Cuplet Fern Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society Open House event. Join us on the first Tuesday once a month for fun, friends & learning. 4-H Family Nights focus on a different 4-H "project," or hobby each month. National Night Out

Tuesday, Oct. 1, 6 to 8 p.m., Center Lake Park & Amphitheater, 299 Center Lake Lane, Oviedo. Evening of fun for the entire family, free food and drinks, face painting, a K9 Demo from our K9 Unit, patrol car finger painting, a live DJ, bounce houses, vendors and lots of police and fire vehicles. Breast Cancer        Awareness Walk

Saturday, Oct. 5, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., The Pearlie Mae Ford Community Service Club of Sanford will host a “Breast Cancer Awareness Walk” at 8 am beginning in Fort Mellon Park, proceeding on sidewalks to Veterans Memorial Park and then back to Ft. Mellon Park’s pavilions. Educational vendors, survivor recognition & celebrations, speeches & more will be offered to guests.

 

Beer, Bacon and BBQ Festival

Saturday, Oct. 5, 2 to 7 p.m., Cranes Roost, Altamonte Springs. Love beer, bacon and BBQ? Then this is the festival for you. Come join us at Cranes Roost Park for craft beer, live music and amazing BBQ. Free. Food & drink tickets/wristbands are available for purchase.

Main Street, Geneva. Try out a mountain dulcimers to see if you would like to learn or bring your own dulcimer & learn to play it.  A dulcimer is one of the easiest instruments to learn to play.
