SANFORD — What do you do when a hurricane is coming??? The LMSA races sailboats!!!
Despite the dire predictions, the Lake Monroe Sailing Association got in both of its regularly scheduled events.
Following the Goslings Rum Race on Wednesday, the group made its way to Filomena's Pizzeria & Ristorante for awards and social time that featured a surprise 30th birthday party for Angie Hayden.

If you are looking to crew, be down at the ramp by 6 p.m. If you are sailing, the starting window will be between 6:25 p.m.-and-6:30 p.m.
* Thursday, October 3 _ The postponed September LMSA Membership Meeting will be held from 7 p.m.-to-8 p.m. at the LMSA Club House (531 North Palmetto Avenue).
* Wednesday (October 9, 16, 23, 30) _ Goslings Rum Wednesday Night Race at 6 p.m. A beautiful sunset race, social at Filomena's with STICKERS and a BOOZE RAFFLE! If you are looking to crew, be down at the ramp by 6 p.m. If you are sailing, the starting window will be between 6:25 p.m.-and-6:30 p.m.
* Saturday, October 12 _ Ladies on the Lake Charity Regatta. Only a few weeks until The Ladies on the Lake Charity Regatta. A portion of the proceeds from this regatta will go towards Harvest Time International. Ladies! Come out and sail against the best sailors in central Florida!
