Picnic Project has recently achieved Nutritious Pantry certification from Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. We are one of six agencies in the region to attain this honor.
This is an extension of Picnic Project's commitment to community health through nourishing foods and connection to resources. We believe everyone has the right to health, no matter their circumstances. To learn more about what being a Nutritious Pantry means and to see more photos, check out our blog - https://www.picnicproject.org/post/picnic-project-recognized-as-a-nutritious-pantry
They also want to congratulate our friends from the Society of St. Andrew (SOSA), a national gleaning organization. They reached quite a milestone - they have now rescued over a billion pounds of food that would have gone to waste. A billion pounds!! SOSA is one of the ways that Picnic Project is able to ensure that we have fresh produce for our neighbors and we are delighted to have the pleasure of working with them. Kudos SOSA!
