On Nov. 2, Central Florida Fall EggFest will be back at Wekiva Island, celebrating 10 smokin’ years.
EggFest is a celebration of lovers of the Big Green Egg grill and all of its capabilities. Egg enthusiasts, known as Eggheads, showcase their talents and techniques on the grills. Attendees reap the benefits, getting to taste a variety of samples, learn some new skills and even get a great deal on one of the grills used at the event.
EggFest takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wekiva Island in Longwood. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the gate, available at centralfloridafalleggfest.com.
“The Big Green Egg has such a cult following, it’s kept us smokin’ for a decade,” said Pete Weller, event organizer. “We Eggheads love to share everything this grill can do, and Central Florida Fall EggFest is the place to do it.”
Those who decide to become Eggheads themselves will have the chance to purchase a Demo Egg Package in advance. The eggs can be purchased on the event website or at one of Sanford Ace Hardware’s three locations.
In addition to the tasting, there will be presentations by Ron Dimpflmaier and Mikey Kay, who will share tips for cooking delicious items on the Big Green Egg. Jason Alan will perform live music.
If that’s not enough to keep attendees feeling full, it’s all for a good cause. The event benefits Wekiva Wilderness Trust and Keep Seminole Beautiful, both of which aim to keep the community clean. The event is hosted at Wekiva Island, which is dedicated to sustainability.
Sponsors include Sanford Ace Hardware, Wekiva Island, Big Green Egg, Travel Country, Wayne Densch, Kick Ash Basket, Smoken Products, FOGO Charcoal, Smokeware, Flint & Flame, SweetWater Brewing Company, ThermoWorks, Flame Boss, Trompo King, Pizza-Porta, Fire & Smoke BBQ Company, Ceramic Grill Store and Tim’s Wine Market.
