Poem, Meditation by Lewis Buck Alexander

Poem, Meditation by Lewis Buck Alexander

By Lewis Buck Alexander

Sands of Time

Ecclesiastes 9:12

For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.

Like fish in a net, or birds in a snare.

Trouble comes swiftly.

Evil comes to sway,

catches us unaware.

No man knows his hour

or the fall of his day.

Beware, for time moves silently away.

Dear Heavenly Father, grant us wisdom to live each day with purpose, aware of life's uncertainty. Help us to stay vigilant and prepared for Your return. Amen.
