Goodwill to Host “Thanks for Giving” Event on November 23, Asks Donors to Drop Off Shoes, Clothes, Electronics and Small Appliances

In the true spirit of the season, Goodwill Indus tries of Central Florida is giving thanks to its donors and shoppers. On Saturday, Nov. 23, the nonprofit will host a “Thanks for Giving” event that encourages donors to “unstuff” ahead of the holidays. Some of the most in-demand items include sneakers and other shoes, clothes, electronics, and small appliances, such as coffee machines and blenders.

On Saturday, November 23, the retail store hours will be from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m and the donation xpress hours will be from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Donors can drop off their items at various Goodwill Industries across Central Florida.

Donating to and shopping at Goodwill locations across Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia and Brevard counties helps create quality jobs and support employment training programs while also keeping millions of pounds of household waste from reaching local landfills.

For 65 years, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida has provided vocational and job placement services to tens of thousands of people living in Central Florida. Through thirty one retail and outlet stores and eighteen Donation Xpress locations in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Brevard, Lake and Volusia counties, Goodwill diverted nearly 24 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfills in 2023.
