STETSON FOOTBALL
Stetson University has announced that Brian Young has resigned his position as head football coach to pursue other opportunities.
"Coach Young has spent a major part of his coaching career mentoring young men at Stetson University," said Athletics Director Ricky Ray. "We are appreciative of all that he has done during his time as both an assistant coach and defensive coordinator, as well as our head coach and wish him the best moving forward.”
Young recorded an overall record of 13-30 in four seasons as the Hatters head coach. In seven seasons as the defensive coordinator from 2013-19, Young's defenses ranked either first or second in the Pioneer Football League.
Offensive coordinator Sheldon Cross will serve as the interim head coach. A national search will begin immediately.

STETSON MEN
The Stetson men's basketball team (1-7) narrowly fell to South Florida (5-3), 74-72, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa on Tuesday night.
"I'm really proud of our guys tonight," said Head Coach Donnie Jones. "They competed with heart and grit against a godd South Florida team that won the American Conference last year. We made some big strides as a team, and it was clear we're growing with every game. A two-point loss stings, but it shows how close we are to turning the corner. I believe in this group and where we're headed. We'll learn from this one and keep building!”
Mehki Ellison led Stetson in scoring with 19, followed by Josh Massey with 18. Treyton Thompson and Abramo Canka tied for the team lead in rebounds with eight. As a team the Hatters shot 47.5% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc.
