The month of November is a month of fun activities and learning. Even though it is almost winter, the weather is around 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
The month began with Galileo students in 4th grade celebrating the Day Of The Dead. Students made crafts and informational presentations about the Day of the Dead. On November 3, Students celebrated Diwali. We learned about where Diwali originated from, the significance and ways of celebrating the festival. On November 11, students celebrated Veterans day and learned all about Veterans. It was an inspiration for each one of us to learn about patriotism, empathy, and gratitude. On November 13, students celebrated World Kindness Day and emphasized the school’s value of ‘Kindness Rules our Heart’ and we also had fun activities and crafts.
On November 21, students are celebrating a Thanksgiving feast. Students and staff members brought in donations for the feast, which included many Thanksgiving foods such as mashed potatoes, fruits, and jello. This is a fun event where families meet kids at school and have lunch together.
On November 25, fall break begins. Fall break lasts for a week. Everyone looks forward to this break to celebrate Thanksgiving on November 28, with family and friends. Thanksgiving celebrates the harvest and being in gratitude for the year that passed by.
The break also gives students time to prepare for their FAST assessments, which are due in December.
