SANFORD — A field of 30-plus boats and crews treated spectators to a weekend of exciting sailing action on Lake Monroe as the Lake Monroe Sailing Association (LMSA) held its annual Sanford Sailfest Regatta under beautiful but cool conditions on December 7 and 8.
Saturday’s opening day was extremely beautiful and saw each of the six classes get in three races each with 11 different boats earning heat wins.
Sunday was also very pretty, but unfortunately, the winds never came up and the final two scheduled races in each class were forced to be cancelled by the LMSA.
