The Christmas holidays are a favorite for many. I know it is for me! My family and I do a lot over the Christmas holidays. We start off by making gingerbread houses. We kind of compete to see who builds the best. Then the fun part…We eat them!!!! We also begin decorating the house with lights. I’m too young to really help hang the outside lights, but I get to help with the tree lights and inside decorations. On Christmas Day we always have family come over like my cousins. I see them a lot, but it’s especially nice to see them at Christmas. When we are all together, we try to make a new ornament each year. My favorite one I ever made was a few years ago. I made one with glitter and sequins. I thought it was beautiful. We even made new stockings last year. Mine had red stars and hearts on it, and my name was in glitter. Can you tell I like glitter? For our Christmas meal we always have some type of seafood. It may be crabs, lobster or shrimp. There are always a lot of leftovers, so really we get to enjoy a Christmas meal for several days…Yum! Yum! When it comes to the gifts, we each take turns opening them one at a time. It makes the process really, really slow, but my mom says everyone wants to see what everyone gets, and she wants to make the “present opening process” last. If it was up to me, I would just rip them all open in a matter of seconds. It’s just so hard to contain my excitement. As the day finishes up, we enjoy laying out on our couch or floor and just watching a good ole holiday movie like Home Alone. Finally, we all help clean up and that’s the end of Christmas…. At least until next year.
