Special to the Herald
The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) recently announced the awardees to serve in the role of Behavioral Health Managing Entities (MEs). After much anticipation we are happy to announce, CFC was awarded the contract for Brevard, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. CFC has served in the capacity of ME for these 4 counties since 2012. According to Maria Bledsoe, Chief Executive Officer of CFC, “Central Florida Cares has an outstanding staff dedicated to meeting and surpassing DCF’s guidelines as we work with an equally impressive group of network providers – all of whom are excited to continue serving the wide array of behavioral health needs of our community.”
DCF contracts with MEs for behavioral health services through regional systems of care. MEs do not provide direct services; rather, they allow the department's funding to be tailored to the specific behavioral health needs in the various regions of the State.
CFC is dedicated to continue serving persons in need of mental health and/or substance use services by providing the best possible information, wide array of prevention and treatment service options, and resources available in the 4-county region. Bledsoe added “It is an immense honor to have the continued confidence of DCF as we embark on another 10-year contract collaborating with providers throughout the region to assure our system of care is among the best.”
