Rick Cronin to Speak on Newly Published Altamonte History Book at SCHS 1st Quarterly Meeting of 2025

Special to the Herald

Please join us at the 1st Quarterly Meeting of 2025 of the Seminole County Historical Society for a special presentation with a book talked by Rick Cronin, a noted author on topics related to Florida history, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 7pm. Cronin will be speaking about his newly published book entitled "Altamonte: A History of Altamonte Springs." The book talk will be followed by a brief Q&A from the audience.

Since 2013, Rick Cronin has published a dozen books, histories of the amazing people, places, and events that shaped our homeland. According to his website, "Cronin’s interest in history is more than talking and writing about events, for his books tell of the influential individuals of yesteryear, both frontiersmen and frontierswomen in our remarkable past, so that we have a better understanding of Central Florida’s rich heritage. The second half of the 19th century was a fascinating period in the enchanting story of a place very often described as “America’s Paradise.” And with but a few exceptions, it is that period in our history which Cronin enjoys researching, writing about, and discussing while visiting with Central Florida history fans during in-person presentations." For more information about Cronin and his works, please visit http://www.croninbooks.com/.

Light refreshments will be served. The talk is free, and open to the public!  The talk itself will last approximately 45-50 minutes with a brief Question and Answer session to be held after. All society members and friends are invited to attend.

For more information, please call 407-665-2489 or visit http://www.seminolecountyhistoricalsociety.com/.

We hope to see you there!
