Poem by Hannah McDonald - Dear Siblings

Poem by Hannah McDonald - Dear Siblings

By Hannah McDonald

Dear Siblings

Our younger selves would enjoy this occurrence.

Still waking up in our same rooms

Hearing the same Christmas songs

Unwrapping presents in the comfort of our living room

Tacky snow globes on the mantel above the fireplace

Getting ahold of our stocking stuffers

Baking a plethora of Christmas cookies to indulge in

Glancing at the decorated tree with kept ornaments through the years

Loud background noises of loved ones laughing

Another festive bear added to the yearly collection

I’m seeing sentimental scenes from our childhood this Christmas.
