A family affair
Altamonte Springs police responded to a family disturbance at 326 Wymore Road Unit 101, Altamonte Springs on the night of May 28. Officers spoke with the woman who made the initial call, who said she had gotten into an altercation with her stepfather after he tried to leave with one of her siblings. She said she blocked him from leaving the house because she was concerned about her sibling’s safety. Her stepfather tried to get around her multiple times. The woman said she was injured after he did this, but didn’t believe her stepfather intentionally harmed her. Officers then spoke to the woman’s mother who said she didn’t see everything but claimed her husband threw the woman across the room. This was contradictory to her daughter’s own statement. Officers then spoke to the stepfather on the telephone, as he had returned to his own home. He claimed his stepdaughter hit him multiple times, prevented him from leaving the home, grabbed his arms and threatened to shoot him despite saying she didn’t own a gun. When questioned about this, the woman contradicted her stepdad and admitted to owning a gun. Officers asked the man if he would fill out domestic violence paperwork or write a statement about the incident, but he refused and hung up. However, he advised them to check the home’s Ring doorbell footage. When officers viewed this footage, they saw the woman and her mother pulling the man’s arms and attempting to block his path while he was holding his daughter. Nicollette Brook Henderson, 22, of Altamonte Springs, was charged with battery touch or strike, kidnap false imprisonment and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. The officer also requested the State Attorney’s Office file charges against her mother, Britney Diane Brook Henderson, for battery touch or strike and kidnap false imprisonment.
Undercover Kid
The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office City/County Investigative Bureau undertook an undercover operation targeting underage sales of nicotine, tobacco and alcohol on May 28. A confidential under 21 informant entered the Valero Gas Station located at 1095 W. SR 434, in Casselberry. The informant purchased a Corona Extra for $50 without being asked by the cashier to provide their ID. After the informant left, agents entered and spoke with the cashier. The man claimed he was distracted because he was training a new employee and gave $50 to the agents. The man had previously sold alcohol to a minor informant on September 19, 2024. Diego Acevedo Marin, 34, of Casselberry, was charged with subsequently selling alcohol to an individual under 21 within one year.
Animal Control Antics
Altamonte Springs police were dispatched to 285 Loraine Drive Apartment 205, Altamonte Springs, on the night of May 29 in reference to a conflict between a woman and an animal control officer. The animal control officer told police she went to the apartment in reference to an online complaint. The animal control officer attempted to inform the resident of her ordinance violations and issue warnings, but the woman pushed the officer on her lower back towards the front door. Officers then spoke with the woman, who refused to step outside of her apartment when asked. Officers then took hold of her arms, which she resisted until being put in handcuffs. The woman continued to struggle and was warned if she kept resisting that she would receive additional charges. She then braced her body and pulled on the arm of the officer who was transporting her to a patrol vehicle, leaving marks on his left hand and forearm. Alecia Shawan Johnson, 46, of Altamonte Springs, was charged with resisting an officer with violence and battery on specified personnel.
