FREE BASEBALL CLINIC
USA Baseball will host a Homegrown Clinic for youth baseball players ages 6-12 this Saturday, June 7, from 1 p.m.-to-5:15 p.m. at Red Bug Lake Park (3600 Red Bug Lake Road) in Casselberry with Trinity Prep graduate and Team USA alum Aiden Stillman. This FREE event will allow youth participants to rotate through introductory baseball stations–including baserunning, catching/throwing, fielding, and hitting–while interacting with a USA Baseball alum and coaches from their community. Each Participant will receive a complimentary t-shirt, wristband, and an autographed poster commemorative of the event.

SANFORD ADULT SOFTBALL
Here is the upcoming schedule in the City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department Adult Softball Spring Season.
The Semi-Co-Ed/Fun League tonight (Wednesday) will hold its Postseason Tournament with Fusion playing The West End Trading Company at 6:30 p.m. and Pat’s Liquor facing Throwbacks at 7:30 p.m. The semifinal winners will return to the field to play for the Championship at 8:30 p.m.
The Men’s League on Tuesday (June 10) will be playing its Postseason Tournament with the No. 2 seed (Venezolanos en Sanford or The West End Trading Company) playing the No. 3 seed (The West End Trading Company or Titans) at 6:30 p.m. and the No. 1 seed (Venezolanos en Sanford or Titans) facing the Bokey Batters at 7:30 p.m. and the semifinal winners returning to play the Championship Game at 8:30 p.m. The schedule was undecided at press time as heading into the final night of the Regular Season, Venezolanos en Sanford, which was 5-3, played a doubleheader against the Titans (5-4) at 6:30 p.m. and the Bokey Batters (3-6) at 7:30 p.m. The West End Trading Company finished with a 5-5 record.

NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY
New Smyrna Speedway will be hosting a Modified Challenge Twin 35s this Saturday.
In addition to the J&C Gradall Modifieds, also seeing action will be the Sportsman, Bomber B and Florida Southern Ground Pounders divisions.
Pit gates open at 2 p.m. with Division Practice from 3 p.m.-to-5 p.m. Ticket booths and grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. Come early and get $5 off General Admission until 6 p.m. Qualifying/Heat Races are at 6 p.m., followed by Feature Racing at 7:30 p.m.
Adult admission is $20 (reserved seating is $25, the top six (6) rows of the Main Grandstand) with all seniors (65+) and military (with valid ID for proof of age or Military affiliation) admitted for $18. Kids 12-17 are $5 (No Early Bird Discount). Kids 11 years of age and under are free of charge (MUST be accompanied by paying Adult to qualify for Free Admission). BANDA LEADS PRIDE PAST ROYALS
Orlando Pride (6-3-1, 19 points) defeated Utah Royals FC (1-7-2, 5 points) 3-1 on Friday (May 24) at America First Field. The win secures the Pride unbeaten streak against the Royals since they relaunched last season, now reaching three consecutive games.
Barbra Banda recorded the first hat trick in Orlando Pride history, all coming in the first half of the match. Banda also became just the third player in NWSL history to secure a first half hat trick and the first to do so on the road. The Zambian international is the first African international to record a hat trick in the NWSL.
Scoring Summary:
* 6’ - Barbra Banda (Ally Watt) – ORL 1, UTA 0 _ The Pride opened the scoring with Oihane driving the ball down the right wing and finding Ally Watt in space. Watt sent a ball into the box that found Barbra Banda who was able to redirect the cross with a one-time finish to take the early lead.
* 14’ - Brecken Mozingo (Claudia Zornoza) – ORL 1, UTA 1 _ The Royals answered after Claudia Zornoza found Brecken Mozingo some space behind the Pride backline. Mozingo was one-on-one with the Pride goalkeeper and was able to level the match by sliding the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
* 37’ - Barbra Banda – ORL 2, UTA 1 _ The Pride retook the lead with Barbra Banda scoring her second goal of the first half. Banda intercepted a back pass from the Royals defense and was able to outrun the Utah backline. The Zambian international then dribbled past the keeper and slotted the ball into the empty net.
* 38’ - Barbra Banda (Haley McCutcheon) – ORL 3, UTA 1 _ Just one minute and 37 seconds later, Barbra Banda recorded the first hat trick in Pride history extending the Pride’s lead. Haley McCutcheon won the ball in her own end, took a couple dribbles and sent the ball forward to Banda. Banda got on the end of it, took a few touches to get her into the box and sent a shot to the near post that got by the Royals goalkeeper.

ORLANDO CITY SPLITS WITH PORTLAND/ATLANTA
Orlando City SC (7-3-6, 27 points) split a pair of matches, taking down the Portland Timbers (6-4-5, 23 points), 1-0, at Inter&Co Stadium on Saturday (May 24) and falling, 3-2, to Atlanta United FC (4-7-5, 17 points) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday (May 28).
The Lions, who were brought down to 10 men in the 77th minute after César Araújo received a direct red card against Atlanta, saw their unbeaten streak in league play snapped at 12 games, which had tied the previous club record set in 2020.
