Volusia County murder suspect hospitalized after gunfight with Seminole County deputies

Investigators from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office look for clues at the shooting scene of Maple Avenue and 22nd Street where they say Brandon Paul McLean shot at deputies.

Seminole County Sheriff’s Office officials said the altercation started after deputies located McLean at Cy’s Coin Laundry at 2100 French Ave. From there, McLean reportedly attempted to flee and fired multiple rounds at deputies. Deputies fired back, hitting McLean five times. While no deputies were hurt, but McLean remains in the hospital.
