Mary Frances Gordon, 93, of Sanford, passed away May 14, 2017 at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
She was born in Opelika, Alabama and lived in the Central Florida area for 80 years. She was a homemaker and member of the First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board for many years.
She is survived by her son, Wilbert Gordon (Valerie) of Sanford; daughters, Starlene Gordon of Sanford, and Sandra Prince of Lindenhurst, Ill.; brothers, Grady Nelson of Camphill, Ala., Quinton Nelson (Sylvia) of Orlando, Charlie Nelson of Apopka; sisters, Cecelia Gamble of Ocala, Mary Ruth Mosley of Apopka, and Emma Dean Cannon of Apopka; nieces and caregivers Jessie Alston, Edna M. Gordon, and Juliet Martin, all of Sanford; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eichelberger’s Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20 at 11 a.m. at First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Harry D. Rucker Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
