Stafford Anthony Mitchell, Sr., 68 passed away on September 4, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 12 at 11:00 AM at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church 813 Pine Avenue, Reverend Lowman Oliver, Pastor and Reverend Leonard L. J. Wilson Eulogist. Interment will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida. Stafford the fourth child was born on Friday, December 10, 1948 to the union of the late Allen and Sarah Louise Robinson Mitchell. He attended the public schools of Seminole County Florida. He graduated from Crooms High in 1966. He furthered his education at Seminole Community College in Sanford and Florida Technological University in Orlando, Florida. Stafford was a Vietnam War Veteran. He enlisted into the United States Army on June 24, 1979 and serve his Country with Honor and Dignity. He was employed by the United States Postal Service at Reinhart for more than 10 years. To have known Stafford was to love him. We all have memories of his gentle nature. He touched the lives of many with his gentle persona, his calm disposition and his quick and willing deeds. His life has filled its place in this world and will always fill a place in our hearts. Stafford’s memory is deeply cherished by his wife, Mercedes Mitchell, Sanford, Florida; daughters, Ebony Glover, Hinesville, Georgia; Michelle Smith, Jacksonville, Florida; sons, Stafford A. Mitchell, Jr., Steven Mitchell, Stacy Mitchell, Sanford, Florida; brothers, James Ronald (Kenny Mae) Mitchell, Bernard D. (Jacqueline) Mitchell, Cleveland Michael (Gaylar) Mitchell, Sanford, Florida; sisters, Sandra Mitchell Gaines, Orlando, Florida; Veronica Mitchell Ready, Sanford, Florida; six grandchildren, one great grandchild, ten nephews, ten nieces; step-children, Tyrik Hampton, Dontaey Major, Dwight (Lauren)Freeman, Jr., step sisters, Ann Marie Mitchell, Sanford, Florida; Tina Mitchell, Victoria Mitchell, Alabama; step brothers, Arthur Mitchell, Sanford, Florida; Allen Mitchell, Tyrone Mitchell, Alabama; a host of sorrowing cousins and friends. Stafford will be Laying in Estate on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Chapel, 819 W 1st Street Sanford and from 5-7 PM at Rescue Church of God 1700 West Historic Goldsboro Blvd. Sanford.
