Former Oviedo High and UCF standout quarterback Blake Bortles (No. 5) was 20-for-34 for 223-yards, with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions, and carried the ball 4-times for 29-yards, but the Jacksonville Jaguars, 1-1, fell to the Tennessee Titans, 37-16, on Sunday.

Despite an opponent draped all over him, Lake Mary’s Pedro Rodriguez (No. 17, top) makes a remarkable catch and later caught a touchdown pass, but it was not enough as the Rams fell to Tallahassee-Godby, 33-14, Thursday night at Don T. Reynolds Stadium. There was a minor upset in the annual battle for the “City of Oviedo Football Challenge Cup” as host Oviedo High, led by four touchdowns from Keonte Coffie and three from Morgan Mitchell (No. 22 and No. 2, middle), outscored previously unbeaten Hagerty, 48-27, despite four rushing touchdowns from Jordan Gilbert (No. 26, above).

Unfortunately, this time the show was more in the sky than on the field.
Every game in Central Florida on Friday night was affected by a huge mass of thunderstorms that produced an awe-inspiring and breathtaking lightning display followed by heavy rain.
